Boogie at the Bluff

The other day I rode down to Red bluff with a mate who doesn’t live here but North of Carnarvon. Anyway we went down to Red Bluff because Jakes was like 8-10ft and Red Bluff is more surf-able. I didn’t take any camera gear because I didn’t feel like taking any photos and Red Bluff was working well.

For the first few hours it was just me and my mate out and we were catching heaps of waves on the right. He didn’t have a surfboard because it broke and he just borrowed one of my boogie boards. We were just taking off right under the lips and pulling in even when we knew there was no chance in hell of making it but we had a hell fun time. A little bit later Devlin and Luke showed up. I caught a wave in to try and encourage them to come out and both of them were refusing for a while when they saw one of the sets come out.

Eventually they got out, Luke on his surfboard and Devlin on his bright pink boogie board. After a couple of waves each Devlin decided to drop in on me, which didn’t turn out too well for him. He came out underneath me and I did a huge air drop on him. I was cracking up while I was sitting on him, with his head underwater and his body completely unaware why he was sinking and then, all of a sudden, I got some speed, went over his golden head as he nose dived and got washed away. I was still laughing and paddled back out. Devlin went in to get his board and switched it for his surfboard. I let him go on any waves he wanted after that.
