1. I have been to 8 different countries. Canada, America, Malasia, Indonesia, England, Ireland, New Zeland, France are all the countries I have visited.

2. I am allergic to cats.

3. I am the third oldest person in the class.

4. I work at the bakery as a holiday job.

5. I have only used one peice of paper in my new book.

Student Activity 2

First use a Word document for this task then copy and paste your answers onto a new post with the same title.

Before reading the newspaper article below, write a sentence or two about what you think it may be about.

Then –

Read the newspaper article and answer the following questions in full sentences –

WHO is this article about?

WHAT is it about?

WHY is  Jacob promoting this?

WHERE is he from?

WHEN is this happening?

Now write a short response to the article (a few sentences) For example, is it a good idea? Why is he or is he not a good ambassador for this campaign? What do you know about Jacob? plus anything else you want to say about the article.

Student Activity 1

Here are five things you may not know about me –

1. I was born in Glasgow in Scotland but left when I was 21 to come to Australia alone on a nine months working visa.

2. I have not always been a teacher. I was a shop owner, a pub manager, a secretary, a cleaner and a jillaroo among other things.

3. I left school in year 11. I had to go back to school at the age of 38 to do year 12 at Rockingham TAFE so that I could go to university.

4. I study an online course outside of school so I also have homework and assignments to do. I feel your pain!

5. I am a terrible swimmer and scared of the water.
